Website visit analytics
GhostHeart uses Metricool to measure visits and pages viewed on this website. Its tracking script connects to Metricool when a page loads. Metricool states that this tracker uses no cookies or unique visitor identifiers, does not store visitors' IP addresses, and provides anonymous, aggregate statistics. An IP address is processed during the connection to determine the visitor's country. These statistics help GhostHeart understand how the website is used. Blog comments
If you submit a comment on a blog entry, GhostHeart stores your chosen display name, comment, entry reference, submission time, and moderation status in its Supabase project. No login or email address is required. A moderator reads each submission before it appears. If approved, your display name, comment, and approval date appear publicly. Please do not include private or crisis details.
To limit abuse, the comment service processes the connection address into a keyed marker. The comment tables store that marker and attempt time, not the raw address. The hosting provider may separately process connection data in its service logs. Abuse markers are deleted after two days. Pending and rejected comments are deleted after 30 days. Moderation decision records are deleted after 90 days. Approved comments remain until removed.
To request removal of an approved comment, email signal@myghostheart.com and identify the blog entry and comment. You may read the blog without submitting a comment.
Films and YouTube
Most GhostHeart film thumbnails load from this website. Two older Shorts in the film catalog may request a thumbnail from YouTube when you view that catalog. Embedded YouTube players load only when you press a film frame. When you do, the privacy-enhanced YouTube player may receive connection and playback information under YouTube and Google's own privacy practices. You can browse the rest of the website without loading a YouTube player.
What is collected
The signup form asks for your email address. GhostHeart does not ask for a password, payment information, or sensitive personal information through this form.
Why it is collected
Your email address is used to send GhostHeart updates such as new songs, films, stories, resources, and project news. You must confirm the subscription before messages are sent.
Who processes it
The form is processed by Mailchimp. When you submit it, Mailchimp receives the information and handles the confirmation and mailing-list record under its own privacy practices.
Your control
- You can leave the form blank and continue using the rest of the website.
- You can ignore the confirmation message and remain unsubscribed.
- You can unsubscribe from any GhostHeart Heartbeat email using the link included in that message.
No sale of signup information
GhostHeart does not sell the email address you provide through this signup form.
